George Walker Bush is the 43rd President of the United States. He was sworn into office on January 20, 2001, and re-elected on
November 2, 2004. His second term began when he was sworn in on January 20, 2005. Before he became President, he served from 1995
to 2000 as Governor of the State of Texas.
President Bush, born July 6, 1946, is the eldest son of President George H. W. Bush, who served as the 41st President, and
Barbara Bush. He is one of only two U.S. presidents to be the son of a preceding president. After graduating from Yale University
in 1968 and Harvard Business School in 1975, Bush worked in oil businesses. In 1977, he married Laura Welch and they later had

around the world. It will also house an official government archive and a state-of-the-art museum that will open in 2013.
